Remington 870 for sure 20 or 12 with 21" barrel .
870 = corvette stingray
835 = Amc pacer
For the car argument.
Lol

IMHO the 835 will pattern better.

Either one but since I'm a lefty I prefer mossberg and their ambidextrous safety.

I grew up with Remmys in my hands (1100's and 700's) and loved them.  I killed my first turkey with a 1100.  When I got hooked on turkey hunting, I looked at several shotguns and the Remmy and Mossys were at the top of the list.  I wanted a 3 1/2" capable gun, one that patterned extremely well and one that could shoot many loads and chokes well.  After listening to many people on this site, I chose the 835 and couldn't be happier.  Many on here grew up with Remmys, as I did, and love them but after 10 years of hunting with the 835, it is my dedicated turkey gun.  It patterns superbly.  I can shoot multiple loads and chokes through it and I have killed numerous birds with it.  And it won't break the bank.  It does kick with 3 1/2's but most guns do.  I have mitigated the kick with a Limbsaver, added about 4 oz of lead shot in the rear of the stock (which helps balance the gun as well) and added a beartooth comb raising pad to it and she shoots like a 20.  What I truly like about the 835 is the overbored barrel that patterns just about every load really well.  I'm a Remmy guy but I LOVE my 835.  Good Luck with which ever you choose.

I have three or four 870's and one 835 and none of the 870' s even come close to the patterns that the 835 throws. With that said I will be toting my winchester 1300 again ad I have for the last 20 yrs.
The moss berg is the only other gun that gets any woods time. The 870's never come out anymore.

870. Pick up an older Wingmaster or Special Purpose gun. They have less stamped parts. The 870 express line is on par with the Mossberg guns.
x2 on this. The older Special purpose mags are bomb proof and are great shooters.  I picked one up in The original bottom land pattern in the mid 90's, it has  taken all but one of my birds and I will never part with it.

I have one of both maybe 25 years old. I use the 870 for deer doing man drives, and the 835 for turkey. So I can't say which one patterns better. The 835 was made to be a turkey gun. I just wish my 835 was modern camoed n not the old style came it has. Which ever one you can shoot best and fits you best to with that one. If a gun don't fit you and is not comfortable for you it don't matter how good it patterns you will never happy with it.
