Duck hunters chime in and whoever else. I'm wanting to get a new duck gun pretty soon and I am set on what I want.  I want a low end semi , inertia or gas, that I do not cringe when I let kids or buddies use it, and when I use it, I won't cry when I take it and it gets nasty.  This will not be my main shooter, nor my second main shooter, it will be a backup backup, and it's primary purpose will be as a loaner.  It's not a turkey gun, and won't be.  It will shoot 3" steep, and that is it.   What say you?   Let's start and say sub 700.  Steiger?   Beretta a300?   Weather by sa08?   Lookin for recommendation from those of you that may have these guns in this price range

A300 outlander.  Points well and utilizes the old, proven beretta system. I was impressed with it when I shot it and I don't know anyone with any negative things to say about the gun.

Remington 11-87 magnum. You can change stocks and barrels to fit about any condition. wood, black synthetic and camo versions are available.

They also offer an 11-87 Super Magnum to shoot 3.5" shells.

I was not a Winchester fan for many years. I tried the Winchester SX3 auto and purchased one for myself and one for my daughter.

Look around and see if you can find a used Winchester sx2 if you're wanting one priced right. I bought one a while back and love it. Also have a Remington 11-87 but it's not as nice. Certainly functional but not nearly as nice.

I concur. I have the same two turkey slaying machines.

I have a Beretta A300 Outlander and i think for the price it is a heck of a gun. Shoots 3 inch and 2.75 and i've never had a single cycling issue. Or any issue for that matter. It is LOP and comb height adjustable with shims and its just a rock solid gun. I have the max4 version and i paid right around 700 for mine.
