The only hunting show I watch is Kentucky Afield. It's on local t.v and is produced by our fish and game departement. You can also catch episodes on YouTube. Other than that I haven't watched any other hunting shows in a while and don't know who this guy is. He sounds like a tool.
I've watched some of the kyafield stuff on YouTube but it's been a while. Is that the one that has the fella with only one arm? I might be mistaken. Pretty sure I've seen an episode or two of them chasing squirrels with dogs though. I need to get back on the pre and check them out again.

Yes that's the one. Tim Farmer the old host (he retired a few months ago) was injured in an accident when he was young and only had use of one arm. Never the less he bow hunted, fished and shot birds better than most folks with two arms. The new guy is named Chad and it looks like he will do just fine. The thing I like best about Kentucky Afield is that it's a show about the outdoors and people enjoying it, not a product plug or stage for some tool with an inflated ego.

Just started watching that show on Youtube...Great show and, like you said, the host is a remarkable man. One arm and functions like an able person. Never heard him mention anything about the arm and seems to be able to do anything a two armed person can do...Love that! AND, the content of the show is always interesting...

I believe that most hunting shows do far more harm to hunters and hunting than benefit.

I am a duck hunter, and most of the duck hunting shows are simply irritating.   6 guys in a pit blind unload on a flock of birds, hollering and yelling, and giving high-fives for the two birds that fell, with nobody knowing who shot what (and hard-rock music playing in the background the whole time).

On the other end, you get guys that are extremely proficient hunters and shots, and they show close-up, slow-motion video of birds being destroyed (cause they were shot too close).  Or as we say, the money shot in duck-porn.

I have seen some good shows, and some good episodes, and it seems that often turkey hunting shows/videos are some of the best out there...  But generally they are hunting a ranch loaded with birds, and little chance of not having success.  (Same with deer and big game hunting shows).

I would much rather hunt than watch some tool making a mockery of it on TV or Youtube.
Did I do that?

Used to pay $3.99/mo extra for the Outdoor Channel.............. used to.

Pretty much can't STAND any of the shows on any of the channels anymore.  I can stomach the Primos gang.  They do an OK job.  That's about it.

Meateater, fresh tracks and Jim shockeys shows for me as well.  The rest of it is staged crap on private ranches where the works been done for the "hunter".

Poorly made cable tv hunting shows will likely be the downfall of turkey hunting , if not most other forms of hunting -

the last thing turkey hunting needs is some YouTube/cable tv fool who dresses up and acts like "dog the bounty hunter"  while spamming the show up with all kinds of crap we don't need

Very true,...with some exceptions as have been noted by others.
I don't know if the bad ones are just clueless,...or if they just don't understand the wildlife laws of this country and the implications their tasteless displays could have on all of us as hunters.  Regardless, we all better hope and pray that the 90% of the people in this country that don't hunt, but are equal owners of the country's wildlife, don't get to where they have had enough of the disrespect shown by some of these "hunters" on many of these shows.
If they do, hunting in this country, as we know it today, could cease to exist.

Five minutes maybe at best of hunting and 25 minutes of infomercials.  No thanks I'm going hunting.

Apologizing:  does not always mean you are wrong and the other person is right.
It just means that you value your relationship more than your ego.

Maybe the videos would be a little, a little better if the actors would act like they had been there before.
"[T]he changing environment will someday be totally and irrevocably unsuitable for the wild turkey.  Unless mankind precedes the birds in extinction, we probably will not be hunting turkeys for too much longer."  Ken Morgan, "Turkey Hunting, A One Man Game

The only way to end it is to quit watching it. Unfortunately people who feel this way are in the minority. Sex isn't the only thing that sells. Stupidity is right up there on the list.
