Have you seen this already?  TN SB 1736
This law makes businesses who have a gun free zone to be liable for any harm, death, etc that comes to a conceal carry permit holder on their property.  It's worth googling.  Hope this isn't old news.

Well apparently after further reading the bill passed HOWEVER the politicians added a single amendment that scrubs the whole thing. The govt ruins everything.  Again.

If I read this correctly...if you owned a business, say a bar,and somebody got shot, would you want to be held liable.  Sounds like a wise decision to drop it so it doesn't become law.

I try to avoid gun free zones unless there is a logical reason that the premises be gun free.  I don't carry in court or a prison facility because it would be a violation of the law and the restrictions of my concealed carry permit, as well as being a logical prohibition.  As for private gun free zones, I either avoid them or ignore the signs.  If I should print, I will leave if asked and avoid the premises thereafter.  I am not going to allow some idiot proprietor to decide for me that I don't have the right to defend myself from evil.  Frankly, I have no problem with the idiot proprietor of his gun free zone being held liable for damages to a person otherwise entitled to carry who is foolish enough to OBEY the sign and is harmed by a purp during the commission of a crime.

I don't understand why businesses can't have a sign right to carry or not carry and with a person knowingly patronizing the business the owner should be exempt. That's probably way to easy though we as a society need the right to be told what we can and cant do and also the right to sue the crap out of somebody . Lol...
