Some reviews of my Savage single shot after William worked his magic.

Circa 1958 plain jane beater. Wanted to build a light gun for the Mountains I travel to.

William did the following-

Cut chamber to 3"
Threaded barrel for Truchoke pattern
Built me 2 chokes - .562-5 and a .585 for TSS..
Drilled and tapped for Marlin 336 base.

Had planned to shoot some Federal HW7s and TSS 9s through it to see what suited me as to pattern density. (really wasn't overly concerned about numbers).. Just dense, even patterns..

Got the gun back and easily sighted in the Burris FF.

Was blown away by the quality of the work and the results on the targets. The .562 is MEAN.. Took her to WA State and devastated both the birds I had tags for. TSS is no joke. Back in the dinosaur era I killed my first 25 or so birds with lead 4s that may have put 70-80 pellets on a target. It took some convincing for me to change from the Nitro Hevi triplex loads I have been using for many seasons now. I am impressed!

All that is left is to have the gun dipped in MO Original Bottomland.  Love the gun and can't speak highly enough about the job William did on making this gun a spectacular Turkey killer. I hope to have many years ahead hunting with this little flyweight.  Pictures to follow.

Congrats nitro!  Sweet little scattergun you got yourself there!
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

It's older than me........ :TooFunny:

I like it a great deal so far. I do see a LH Benelli M-2 20 gauge in my future..just for back up. The TSS 9s are mean from a 20 of that there is no doubt.
