Now that the season is winding down, I'm looking at decoys for next season and wanted to know if any of you used the new Montana Miss Perr-fect 3D hen decoy this year. If so what do you think of them?

I just bought 2 ms perfect hens and a jake from midway on sale. They are very convenient setting up and carrying.  Didn't hunt with them because I bought them at the end of season. They arnt as pretty as a dsd or avian , but I am willing to bet that they will be just as effective and without a doubt less of a pain to haul around.

I would like to know if they are life size or smaller after you get them.

As far as looks they appear about the size of a average hen. The jake is about the same.

I purchased the hen this year because I liked the idea for packing lite. My feelings about these decoys is #1 the color is way off, #2 the wire that adjust the head is terrible. I had the hen set out after I closed in on a Tom I called him in to 80 yards he was with 2 other long beards and they all saw the hen and had no intrest to come any closer to check out the hen and left. So my review is save your money on this one. Great concept but not a game changer.

Lol. Everyone has opinions and reviews on products. You had one experience that was not positive but the way I see it was not negative either. There is not a decoy made that pulls turkeys in 100 percent of the time. As far as the color being way off , I will say the ones I got was pretty good looking color wise. Also remember hens are not always the same color. I honestly think that if a jake decoy was in the mix , the result may have been different depending on the breeding phase. On another note , I personally know people who have good luck with the funky chicken and we know how that looks. I am in no way trying to say Montana decoys are the best , but I am only trying to say that some are looking for the fool proof turkey call or gadget that will make a turkey run in and commit suicide everytime they go , and this call , decoy or product does not exist.

I had several set up's this season with a hen decoy out and the gobblers paid no attention to her at all. I had a few that came in to the decoy that allowed me to harvest 3 birds this year with the decoy, and one with no decoy out. I really am looking at a way to carry 2 decoy's that actually fit in my vest. While looks of the decoy do matter, I think having one that at least resembles a hen will work better than not having one at all.

I used the Purrfect Pair combo (Jake & Hen) just yesterday morning.  They brought an old boy in from over 200yards.  He seemed to like them just fine, although he probably doesn't any longer.  I've been happy with them.

I don't live or die by a decoy, but I'll admit they have their use depending on the situation. I think DSD, Deception, Avian, etc all look great to ME. They are also WAY more inconvenient to tote around. Not impossible, but certainly more bulk. These Montana dekes collapse and ride inside the vest without much thought.

I'd guess they'd be fine.  I still have old foam featherflexes that don't even look halfway realistic with their big blue heads and caved in sides...and birds still pay them a visit.

I have the miss purr fect. I used her several times this year.

Likes: light, portable, sets up in seconds, I like you can modify the poses
Dis-likes: Lost the little crappy thing that keeps her collapsed (using a piece of velcro) but she always comes open in my vest and it's super annoying. I wish she was darker, mine is almost grey in color and doesn't stand out as much as I would like.

Other than that she is purr fect for the way I hunt. Tons of walking. Shes way more covient than my Avian X jake that she sometimes dates.

Thanks for the info. I really like the ease of carrying them, so I just ordered the Jake and hen pair.

I just got one...  the hen is a little small. But the one thing I don't like is how close it sits to the ground. I hunt in thick swamps and need the decoy off the ground a little higher..   I'm sure it would be fine for open areas though...
