I found this egg yesterday while hunting in WV . Looks like it hatched. Seems early. What do you think?

Not too early,  but where's the rest of the eggs?  If you found that one by itself chances are that was a snack for some type of critter.

I found it on a logging road 3' from the edge of a thicket.

What was in it? Doesn't look like a predator eaten egg.

Sometimes a chick will get hung up a little and drag the egg a little bit.

Definitely not to early our poults in SC are already on the grow.

Crow probally got it found a few like in PA already

Poult would have taken the whole end off. Something got it.
When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy

We have had been seeing a few poults for a couple weeks but that is in FL

That's not a hatched egg, when they hatch they look like you cut the large end off with a can opener.
