Spring Creek Calls

Good news indeed! If they perform like the 12 gauge loads they will be a big hit.

I'm curious to see how they turn out. My concern would be in the smaller payload since you're losing numbers with the addition of the resin. Still interested to see how they perform though.

7's or 7.5's........ even better
While this will definitely help with density and I believe it would make a good load, I'm almost hoping they don't do that. There's a lot of people that are already pushing the long beards too far and I'm afraid that if they do this with the smaller shot, it may lead to more crippled birds. If it were an HD load, I'd be onboard. Being that it's lead, I've got concerns about small shot selection. Just my opinion though.

I agree with 7 or 7.5's a bad choice in lead, but far as the 6 or 5 go should help keep tight for those 40 yards shots... I'm getting a decent pattern with the XX's at 50 yards and the LongBeards should do better at that distance, even though i don't shoot that far i have once mistaken the yardage and got a bird at 52yards with the XX's

Log beards, what is your set up? I mean what 20 gauge shotgun, choke, barrel length and xx shells and how far are you shooting? It sounds like you have a really good shooting 20 gauge!! Thanks for the info. Cluck

NYlogbeards

I use a Mossberg 500 with a 24" barrel and Trulock .565 constriction, getting near 40's at 50 Yards but i only shot twice... i stick to under 40 yards and under though and i've dropped 2 birds at 40 yards this past spring. the bird i got at 52 yards was with my dads Winchester 1300 20ga i used 2 years ago with stock full choke and XX's
