:camohat:     For turkey hunting info in books you can't beat Kenney Morgan's Turkey Hunting a One Man Game, he has insight and why a bird acts the way he does. Lovitt Williams Wild Turkey Hunting and Management, again a lot of info such what a call is and what it means. Gets into context of the calls and when to use them.  Another is Doug Camp's book, Turkey Hunting Spring and Fall and anything by Ray Eye. Also the turkey hunting stories the good writers show insight to turkey behavior and how to put the hammer down on a bird to use an Earl Mickel phrase from his last book Longbeards, Callmakers and Memories, a good read for hunting tips and callmakers.
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

I am partial to Kenny Morgan's books both for the insight and because of my close relationship with him.  That being said, one can not go wrong with E.A. McIlhenny's book from the field notes of Charles L. Jordan, "The Wild Turkey and Its Hunting".  I first read Kenny Morgan's copy in the mid-70s on his reccomendation and it has been an annual read ever since.  Skip the chapters on the turkey prehistoric and historic.  Tom Kelly says you should be severely punished if you don' have a copy and BELIEVE and practice pages 188-212.  Kelly refers to Jordan as "Saint Charles of Jordan".  The book is free for download to your computer at Google Books.
"[T]he changing environment will someday be totally and irrevocably unsuitable for the wild turkey.  Unless mankind precedes the birds in extinction, we probably will not be hunting turkeys for too much longer."  Ken Morgan, "Turkey Hunting, A One Man Game

I like Ultimate Turkey Hunting written by Harold Knight and David Hale.  It was written  in the early 90's but is a good mix of tactics, strategy and some stories.

I read that book the year it came out n for some reason I think it's one of my favorites, I read it every spring. Ray Eyes stuff is pretty good as well n I just read Kenny Morgan's last book. Being he knew he was sick n time was limited its aittle sad especially the part his kids/wife write about in the close. Great book though too

Lovett Williams' books are great educational books. Full of info and not stories about turkey hunting. Written by a turkey biologist who spent his entire life learning and teaching others about the wild turkey.
