Couldn't have said it better...the bottom line is I'm going to where the deals are and the price is cheaper.

Here's my stance on it. If my local supplier is close in price compared to the chain stores then he gets my money. I understand they don't deal in bulk like the large stores and so they aren't going to get the price break. However when a box of ammo is 5-6 dollars higher than the big stores well then guess where I am going.

I don't have any local stores to speak of, many of my purchases are made at Cabelas...for those things that I can't get there in person I buy online.  However most of my online purchases are through smaller stores (like Midwest Turkey) and I feel like that is in the spirit of buying from the local little guy.  I hate Walmart.

I use to have to shop exclusively through cabelas catalog and Walmart. But when I moved to the bigger city I started shopping at a local outfit. They are higher, but they have helped me out with quick turn around times and are super knowledgeble. So I normally stop by there first to see if they have what I need before heading to the big box. Plus Walmarts around here do not carry hardly any hunting stuff anymore.
