I plan to make my 2nd out of state trip for a week in May.  Last year I was lucky enough to kill a gobbler and have access to a freezer to freeze the meat and bring it home on dry ice.  This year it's looking like I won't have access to a freezer.  How do other folks deal with this on their trips?

clean it, pack it, and ice as needed and bring it home.

All I've ever done is pack it in cooler on ice use ziplock freezer bag

If you can't get it, home often times outfitters will have folks local you can donate it to.
Got to tell this story , Few years back a group of friends and I were flying back from Texas after a successful hunt and my buddy Doug got short straw and was using a cheap flexible cooler bag to bring about 20 lbs. of frozen meat back as a carry-on. Going thru security in Lubbock they asked what he was carrying and he told them frozen turkey and of course got a bunch of sideways looks. Places the cooler on the belt for x-ray and goes through the metal detector and alarms galore go off. Girl pulls him out and we look and he is wearing cargo shorts with about 20 pockets on them and each pocket has metal buttons. The security girl is looking at him like REALLY ? and of course we are standing back giving encouragement and yelling cavity search , cavity search . She gives him the once over with the wand and just shakes her head and waves him on telling him if we are his friends then he has a lot more problems than security. We all got a good laugh and we probably remember that more than the hunt. Good luck on your trip...

A good friend of mine wired an invertor on his truck. He's a truck cap guy so every year when we would go to Oklahoma and Nebraska he would a few days prior to leaving  plug in this little chest freezer and get it cold. We'd load up a cleaning table and all of the necessary items to clean and freeze our birds. You might look into this idea, small freezers are cheap and your going to like it if you get all your meat back or a whole bird for mounting.

A good quality cooler and some ice will last a week without a problem.  We use a yeti cooler and just put the meat in ziploc bags.

Use dry ice. If you can't find it for sale ask the grocery stores. I know of a small town in KS that the cold stuff is delivered on Tue. at 10:00 and they throw out the dry ice. So it's free to take. I just ask and they say take all you want.
When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy

Couple years ago went to Kansas on a Goose/Duck hunt. Killed a mountable Specklebelly the last morning of the hunt. Put him in the freezer for a couple hours didn't really freeze but got cold. I wrapped him in newspaper and put him in my carry on. Goin through the X-Ray the agent calls me aside  I had already told them it was there. She says take a look was about 3 pellets in him one in the neck. Sent me on my way. Last year I killed a Rio had the hotel freeze the breast for me and stuck the breasts, fan and beard in a soft cooler and carried it on. Chief
