hi guys, ive been gearing up hard for this years spring hunt, i bought an 870 used and modified it to look the part of a turkey killer, but now i'm trying to make it pattern like one lol. right now i have a jellyhead max, but all I've shot from it is some of the el cheapo remington nitros.... they'd decapitate a turkey @20 but further out the pattern is really blown out, so with that being said, ammo suggestions? winchester lb are on my list, i've also heard good things about 3rd degree..... thanks guys sorry for the paragraph....

Gobble!

All depends what your looking for in the pattern and how much you want to spend.

Winchester Long Beards are a unbelievable lead shell. Outstanding patterns but some say they are too tight in close.

3rd Degree were designed to provide a killing pattern at 40 but also provide some wiggle room on close shots.

If I were you I would use the Hevi13 2oz or 2.25oz loads in #7. This will be the most expensive option of the three.

Once again, Longbeards and a Jellyhead .660 or .665 or let William at Sumtoy know what your goal is and he will spin up a choke. The third degree shells are pure junk and marketing hype.

BINK McCARTY

Steer clear of 3rd degrees all together!!!! Try the H-13 Magblend, Winchester Long Beard,or H-13 in the straight shot sizes.
