Kudos to Zink/Avian

Last season I purchased an Avian Jake decoy to compliment my hen DSD...  I made the order late (on sale), and got the decoy the day before the season...

Upon blowing it up, I noticed that it did not hold air as well as I would have hoped...  Good enough to get by, but I was disappointed.

I meant to send the decoy in for a warranty return last season before the warranty was up, but I forgot.  I decided to give it the ol' college try anyways and sent them an email discussing my dilemma...

They sent back an email, apologizing for my inconvenience, and asked for my address.  Today I received the new decoy with a shipping return...

No product is perfect, and to me, a true measure of the quality of a company is the customer service and the manner in which they deal with defective items or purchases...  I could not have asked for better in this case.

As a side note, the DSD decoy is a great decoy and I have had no issues.  My reasoning for the Avian Jake was because the Avian was very realistic (equal to the DSD for the jake in my opinion), a bit smaller, somewhat lighter in weight, and had more realistic motion on the stake...  Hopefully, I do not put a stray pellet into the Avian though.
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

That's pretty awesome, I've read on here how DSD also replaced a decoy when it proved to be defective. Just goes to show you get what you pay for!

Nice to hear good things about companies too!

I had 2 DSD dekes in my house when it burned down a year and half ago.  Dekes were ok since they were in the basement, but the bags  were smokey smelling and contaminated with asbestos.

Called to buy new ones - they asked what happened to the old ones...they sent 'em for free.  Good peeps!

Sorry to hear about the house.  I sure hope nobody or no dogs were injured.  I hate to think of all the stuff I could not replace.

Nice that they were so understanding.

I had a buddy throw a heavy tool box in the back of a truck right onto a avain hen deke and break the internal portion that holds the stake mid season. Our fault and they sent me one in 2 days so I could keep hunting

Well I guess I'm the exception.  I ordered an Avian-X Feeding Hen decoy 2 years ago and when I blew it up the head and neck were extremely twisted in relation to the body.  I called Zink and told them about it and they asked me to text them some photos.  I did and they called me back and said there was nothing wrong with it.  I explained to them that I had made a side by side comparison to another of their Feeding Hen decoys and mine was definitely not right.  Needless to say they would not replace it and I will never own another Avian-X or Zink product.

Blow it up and put it in a hot shower for 10 minutes or so and see if that helps.

The stake tube separated on my hunt sunday... I sent them a message yesterday but I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully today. I store it with the valve open so air can go in and out and it is kept inside.
