Avian X Laydown Hey

Anyone have this new decoy ? Does it have a way to stake it to the ground or is it just the weight of the decoy that holds it down ?

Have one down to the store, as far as I remember no stake or stake hole in the deke. It sits fairly flat, could not fill it with air as the "belly" would bubble and was unstable, let some air out of her and was ok.

I don't understand it, just take a normal hen deke lay it on the ground with no stake and bammmm breading hen.

Same here I use my DSD Upright hen but I did take a stake and cut it short to make her not roll to her side, serves double duty this way.

Just another way they try to put cash in their pocket. like said just put one down and to me when the season gets rolling lot times will be hard to use due to tall grass or leafing out

I'm a DSD fan, but at this years NWTF Convention. I saw the Avian-X Lay down hen and I was impressed with the posture and detail of this decoy. I like the way the wings lay out...looks very realistic.

That's incorrect.  No stakehole is present on the Avian X Laydown Hen but that said a hole through for a jake decoy stake would be a great upgrade.

Wondered about that, we got them on the store a few weeks ago and when I set them up I didn't remember a stake hole, have been off site with a few spring sport shows so did not have a chance to check back. I have way more luck by leaving enough space between the jake and hen so a tom can pass by the jake to either deal with him or move to her.

As have I but most of my friends like to set their dekes up this way (mounted over a laydown hen) so I would think there is a market for it and it wouldn't negatively impact the guys like us that prefer to spread them apart.  Best of both worlds. 
I did experience the same rolling of the belly when fully aired up.  I wonder if the decoy will flatten out some on the bottom after it gets heated up in the sun?  Time will tell.  My only concern at this point.  Otherwise it's an awesome look!

No stake required, once it's inflated the bottoms flat and it rests on the ground. Just got mine last week and it's posture and features are realistic. Worth the buy if you don't have the money for DSDs
