Uplaoding pics from phone

Ok guys I'm pretty computer illerate. I've seen lots of posts where guys had problems uploading pics from a phone., when I tried it said file too big.,
I emailed pics to myself n hit the med or small size when sending. After it hit the email I can save pic and than it'll post
Not sure if it'll help everyone but it helps me
