May take a vacation to VA. Looking to visit the Appalachian mounts. Where would be a good area to visit? Thanks for the help.
When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy

My wife and I just traveled from Southern Illinois to Kitty Hawk, NC, to the Wright Brothers Museum via Virginia. We spent a few hours at Appomattox, VA, a very worthwhile side trip off of I64. The mountains of West Virginia/Virginia are beautiful but would be a real challenge for turkey hunting!

Anywhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway would be good.  Mabry Mill in Patrick County is very nice with good food.

Depending on the time of year , but if you are looking to hit the mountains , I would spend a few days moving thru the Shenandoah Valley heading down from Winchester to Roanoke or so. Appalachian Mtns. to the west and Blue Ridge to the east with tons of of side trips. Skyline Drive ,  Blue Ridge Parkway lots of different caverns and rivers. May also want to consider Smith Mtn. Lake 30 min east of Roanoke . 20,000 acre lake with beautiful scenery , clean water and great striper fishing. Good luck in your travels...
