Made it up to Tennessee for my first time this past weekend. After 10 hrs of driving I pulled in about an hour before light on Friday morning. I was pretty much going in blind but figured I would just get right at it.  I found some birds pretty quick and thought I might just kill me one right out the gate, but it didn't take long for me to realize that hunting those hills was gonna be a big learning curve for this native Florida boy. Between the up and down terrain, bare under growth and foot deep noisy leaves to wade through I just couldn't seem to get where I needed to be and the gobblers weren't quite hot enough to make it easy on me.I had several hang up on ridges across from me and I got busted moving in on a couple others. I never found a bird roosted on the 200 acres but heard several not far across the property line and focused on them.  Well I stayed at it and kept my patience and was able to call in a group of birds about 11:00 Sun morning and took a nice one at ten yards. It was an awesome hunt and certainly educational. I was amazed at how loud those gobbles were as they came up a holler towards me, flat out awesome sound like nothing I have heard before. My bird was 20#, 10 in beard with 1 1/4 spurs.

Congrats, I'm originally from Fl., but now live in Tn. After hunting Osceolas on public land mainly before coming here, I thought I was in turkey heaven the first time I ever hunted in Tn.

Congrats from one FLA boy to another!!
I've hunted 11 states now, and none of them are like hunting in FLA. Definitely a steep learning curve, especially when you're hunting hills and hollers. Good job on your gobbler!!
