Went to some public land this morning and never heard a bird so in the way home this afternoon we decided to stop by the Family farm. I walked up on  a ridge and did some loud cutting on my glass call and one fired off about 500 yards way across the property line. I told my buddy that we really couldnt make a move on him because we were already to our line. We backed up, sat down and i called and sure enough he gobbled again in the same spot. I got him fired up then i put my call down. About 5 minutes later he came over the hill in front of us at 60 yards gobbling and strutting. he never would take those last few steps and eventually walked across the ridge. I had to leave so i just let him be for another day. I never got to pull the trigger but in my mind it was a successful hunt!

Sportsmanship right there gents.   Respecting the property lines.
Not camping out on them.
And not taking a risky shot at a 60 yard bird  :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

A successful hunt? You bet.

I've never shot my gun at that far and I didn't want to risk it. I would much rather back out and hit him again on a day that he wants to come and meet me face to face!! Calling them in and getting them close is the best part of turkey hunting if you ask me. I enjoyed seeing him out there doin his thing and gobbling.
