PA tics bad?

You folks getting an early start scouting in PA finding the tics real bad? 

Seems that in past years they are more aggressive in early spring.  Young ones I'd imagine.

I did 6 miles of hiking this past saturday and didnt see any, I didn't do much brush busting though. I'll be out again this weekend im sure I'll see some soon but I don't have much of a problem with ticks as others do for whatever reason.

Here in Eastern NC, we have ticks really bad due to planted pine plantations with severe underbrush.  Permethrine is the ticket.  I never enter the woods without applying to my clothes.  You can get the concentrate, from most Farm or Garden centers, and mix your own or go to Walmart and buy Sawyer.  Spray clothes, gloves, vest, boots, hat and mask and let dry.  Reapply as needed.

They are bad here in the Northeast as well. I get them even during the winter months. I have a bad tendency to only spray down my turkey hunting clothes with Sawyer's in the spring. Should use it year round.

Funny you should ask.
I went for a ride in the rain Tuesday, to look for some birds in the fields. Yes, they were there.
Anyway, except for nature's call a few times, I didn't really leave the dirt roads.
Found 2 crawling up my sleeve while I was in my car.
Wednesday, lo and behold, had one embedded in my leg.
Call to the doctor, antibiotics on the way!
Un-fricken believable!
Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Permathin EVERYTHING this weekend, if it dries out a bit.

My dogs have been running some and haven't had any on them. I won't be long before they're out again for sure. May try permethrine myself.

Yeah, I head about 7 on me already, none imbedded yet.  Been bit about 9 times in the last 5 years, got them all out early enough, pretty rough out there.

Never had them around when we were kids, never had to worry, not now, they're everywhere.

When shed hunting last week in southwest pa, I had a few on me. They're bad in the area I hunt. Always have been

Not sure? And didn't want to find out, so I scouted in my Permirthin treated jeans and jacket, dedicated just for hiking and scouting.

Been shed hunting every day for the past week. I am finding ticks on me when I come back home. Thought that the -20 winter we had would have knocked them off. But there are here for sure..

Just had my daughter out on her swing set and found them crawling in her play house...blasted ticks! Mom probably won't let her in the back yard for the rest of the year, lol.
