In 55 degree weather and no wind my gun put 153 4s in the 10 at 40yds.

Awesome ! Those 4's will hammer them gobblers for sure.
Knew you'd like them.

Yeah man I love them! I'm sure the patterns will get better as the weather warms, time to go buy a few more boxes to last me!

I got some shells to run out of it right now I just need this snow to melt to start pulling the trigger. Thanks for the replys I will let you guys know what I come up with. If I get to pattern it before turkey season.

VAarrowslinger

3.5" federal heavyweight 7's with an SSX choke. I've gotten much higher numbers with Hevi and winchester extended range but the heavyweights are still my favorite. In my 835 and 935 with the SSX I see 180 - 190 in 10" and even coverage in the 20" with this setup and close to the same in my 870 supermag with a trulock .650.
The federals arent popular because of the pellet count but they are a strong load.

That is outstanding performance from that combo! I always wanted to try it, but for the cost and the funkiness of that flight control wad shell, I just stayed with Hevi-13 3-2-7's.

I have a hevi 13 .676 choke in my 835. I got 232 in a 10" circle at 40 today with 3.5" magblends.

It seems like lots of combinations work well in the 835. Great gun, lots of options.

I don't know what your shooting now but I bet you'll reconsider using the 835 as a backup gun once you get her patterned.  835's pattern really well with Hevi 7's and LB xr's.  As stated, the chokes in the .670 to .676 pattern extremely well (SSX, Hevi, Sumtoy, IC, Pure Gold and Stardot).  I shoot the .670 Pure Gold with 3.5" Hevi 7's and they are devastating.  Good Luck with your choice.

935..magblends..ssx choke...if it aint broke dont fix it.......truly devastating combo..i also have the 22" barrel

surehuntsalot

my 835 (26") with a .679 Truglo Gobblestopper and LB#4's = 140-150     plenty good enough for me
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

HogBiologist

shot the win LB #6 3.5" out of my 835. Got 232 in the 10" at 40. Shooting a Carlsons extended with a constriction of .690.

Quite tight even at 40.
