Hey everyone! I'm new to the board so this is my first post.  I thought I'd share my story with a group that seems to love the outdoors like myself.  Around a month ago I picked my H&R Topper 20g up from my parents house. It was my first gun given to me by my dad when I was 9 years old.  The gun had been painted black by the previous owner and the stock was loose due to a loose bolt.  I just finished refinishing the stock on my rifle and thought I'd give the ol H&R the same treatment. Fast forward to last weekend and the gun was complete with a few coats of TruOil. We have family land past down through the years and thought I'd take the Ol 20g turkey hunting and boy was I rewarded! I took a nice Tom in the evening time around 5:15pm. He was in full strut sneaking up over a hill towards the decoys and it only took 1 shot at 35 yards! Words can't describe the feeling from taking my first bird with my first gun. I'll post some pics for all to see when I figure out how to shrink the picture size.

Congratulations! I love seeing dead birds and yellow shells.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

Thanks everybody,  forgot to mention the ammo I used. Pattern is pretty tight at 25 yards

:z-winnersmiley: Special memory. I am setting up my first gun, a 20 ga SKB 7300 pump, for turkey hunting also. I hope I have the same luck you did. Great job. Al Baker
