Wanting to rig my 390 20 gauge out this year for turkeys.

Looking for a starting point.  This will be a 40yd at most gun.

Any recommendations for choke and ammo combos for this gun?

I have had excellent results with  pure gold tempest .570 with 3 inch Federal HW #7 in my 391.  It will put 160 in 10 inches at 40 yards all day.

Since beretta and benelli use the same 20ga chokes would it be safe to say the M2 choke and shell combos I see on here would be close to that of the 390?

Maybe , maybe not.  Good rule of thumb is too always test your gun. Your gun and your choke.
But for a starting point the Federal HWT 7's should be a good choice.

Ranger007

Definitely going to test. Just looking for a starting point. So far have found a jelly head .570 looking for HW 7's around town but no luck yet.

My 12 gauge browning gold is dialed in for the opener just looking for something to play with later in the season.

I put an after market 22" rifle site barrel on my 390.  I had it threaded and put a sumtoy choke in it.  It pushes high 160s with hw 7s. 140s with the hevi 13 #7.

Thanks wolverine. Where did you find the aftermarket barrel?

wolverines

Let me correct myself.  I bought a factory barrel from Beretta.  I bought the 390 with a 26" ventilated barrel.  I then found a smooth bore 22" rifle sight barrel and bought it.  It was on sale and I felt I couldn't pass up the deal.  It is a factory Beretta barrel, not after market, but after original purchase.
