I've always shot my remington 870 until I ran across a great deal on a mossberg 835. I'm not gonna shoot until it warms up but I would like to have an idea of what I can expect and also get your input on my set up. It's a mossberg 835 3 1/2 chamber. It has a 24" barrel and I have an Indian creek .675 and gonna be shooting hevi-shot magnum blend 5,6,7. 3 1/2, 2 1/4 oz.  what kind of #s should I expect in a 10" at 40 yards?  Thanks and I am pumped for the season to start!

I have a ATI stock so that will help a lot

Is it the adjustable hunting stock or the pistol grip ati?

I have the same rig. Magblends were giving me 200-225. Straight 6's 190-210, though I shot one round of 6's over 230. Straight 7's 260-275.

No matter what you do, it's going to kick like a mule.

I sent my choke to another member here with exact same gun, his gun hated it. I also use that IC in my 935 and it loves it, very similar numbers as my 835.

It's the tactical 6 position stock. And thanks guys for your input

There heavy and kick like a mule and the ported barrel will give you a headache.... lol  killed a many a turkey with one it is a killer for sure with the right set up

Tbrady835

I shoot the same gun except mine has the knoxx nrs (no recoil suppresion ) stock, and I built a gun a few years ago that had the same ati stock yours has and it kicked like a mule but I found the best way to tame it is a limbsaver pad, they make one that is for that stock you have it is called the m4 snap on recoil pad I HIGHLY reccomend it with the 3.5"

I shoot a 935 and used that choke with mag blends for a couple seasons. Great patterns although that was before i started counting in 10" circles. You might want to get yourself an optic though because that choke will shoot very tight @ close range and that almost cost me a gobbler once. If not an optic i would suggest after market fiber optic sights from tru-glo or williams. The sights mossberg turkey guns come with are junk i couldnt get rid of them fast enough. Other than those few tweaks you have yourself an awesome turkey gun. Good luck this season

Hopefully it will work out good for you. I've had a few Mossbergs but got rid of them fast as I never had a feel for them.
