So I bought my first gun a few weeks ago, a brand new Browning A5 3.5", and realized I have zero options to mount a sight/scope to it (I failed to do my research). The receiver is made of an aluminum that is too light to be drilled and tapped and there are no after market options like saddle mounts or rib mounts. I tried returning it, but the shop I bought it from would not take it back, even though it's brand new still. I've called just about every shop within 50 miles and nobody will give me anything close to what I bought it for. I'm looking for some suggestions from you all on what my options are. I'm guessing some will say that not having a sight is not the end of the world, but I'd like every advantage I can get with my first attempt at hunting. Thoughts? Thanks!

Get some fiber optic sights that go on your vent rib

Tru glo magnum gobble dot, or dead ringer beard buster fiber optic sights. Should work fine for ya. Good lucj

It came with an ivory mid bead and an orange fibre optic bead at the muzzle. Seems like most of you opt for a sight or scope to improve accuracy.

I had truglo sights on my 870 then switched to a scope but didn't like it so I switched back to truglo fiber optics. Seemed like the scope was just extra weight to lug around . The Only thing is if your poi is off to much a scope has more adjustability than most fiber optic sights to get it corrected

I've got a New A5, plan to start patterning soon. Yours might have a decent POA to POI, so you need to get out and test the gun soon.

As already mentioned, some sort of rib mounted adjustable sight can correct an accuracy issue...

Just ordered the universal cantilever rib mount from Amazon. I'm hopeful it's strong enough to mount the EoTech sight I've had my eyes on. BammerSlammer...if you're ever in the MA area let me know beers are on me.

Hope it works.  You should love the EOTech.  Nothing like shooting a John Moses Browning design.  Look on YouTube for disassembly instructions.  I don't have an Auto 5 any longer but was always intimidated by all of the screws.  The video makes it look doable and I have always felt that one should know his gun inside and out,

Deal! Good luck. Give a review on it after you've used it awhile let us know how it handled.
