Been looking at some guns and thinking about picking up a beretta 390. Found a few plain Jane Walmart ones and some decent silver mallards. Not far off in price. I hunt mostly tuekeys but the occasional dove shoot. What are yalls thoughts on this gun? Any info is appreciated.

Tail Feathers

390's are very good guns.  Very reliable and durable.  They hold their value very well too.
I don't see many as turkey guns because most have 28" barrels in 12 gauge.  The 20's, if you can find one, demand high prices.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

I own them in both 12 gauge and 20 gauge. My brother also shoots one. I love them and I am always looking to pick up another. My 12 gauge is dipped in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass. My 20 gauge is dipped in Natgear.

I also have one in 12 and 20. Gave 750 for the silver mallard in 12 and 350 for the walmart version 20 used at pawn shop. Both are very reliable great shouldering guns.

Any real difference between the synthetic basic matte Walmart version vs the silver mallard?  Is finish, engraving, and pretty walnut the difference ?

Silver mallard has better finish and also has a magazine cutoff lever.
