i have a question for you guy im new and don't know alot but what im wondering about is the length of a shot string with all the tight chokes and heavy loads are we actually getting all that shot
in a birds head i mean the target stays put so it doesn't matter how long the shot string is but
when those first few pellets hit a birds head im thinking something i :OGturkeyhead:s going to move before it all
gets there what do you all think or am i way off base with my thinking, would appreciate your
all's knowledge here.

Don't over think it.  While there could be some movement in that millisecond....it would be minimal in relation to the "pattern" or the turkey's "head".

patternmaster chokes "supposedly" have a shorter shot string. I don't know about all that but I do know that the code black throws some of the most consistent and even patterns I've ever seen. All my guns shoot exactly how I want them to now but I'm going to pick up another gun just to put and code black in it.

As stated, Don't over think this.  A shot string that comes out of a gun at 1000 fps will travel over 3 football fields in the first second (333.33 yards).  Even if a bird does move his head, the string is going to hit it's mark in milliseconds.  The idea here should be know what your pattern looks like at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yards so Aim Small to Miss Small at close ranges.

Thanks guys makes better sense now. :thanks:

I concur with BoWhoop. The overall pattern is what counts.
