SD public land

Looking to get a little more insight on public land turkeys in SD. This would be my first out of state hunt. After all my research and searching the South Dakota website I'm leaning at Bennett county archery hunt. So my question for you guys is this a good area to go or should I just go through an outfitter?

Not familiar with Bennett County and by no means an expert there, but myself and two buddies hunted the Black Hills in 2013 and all killed birds.  We hunted around Hill City.  We went unguided and found birds most places we went.  Will gladly help if I can.
