Decided to see what my new 20ga. Franchi 720 would do on the turkey boards yesterday and here are the results. I was shooting with only the front truglo bead sight,The gun is shooting low left at 20,30,40 yards so I had to compensate for that.
Would you guys think this would be acceptable patterns to bust a gobbler with? I spent alot of $$$ on my SBEII this year so I don't really have alot of extra for this 20.ga right now so I bought a new pure gold tempest .555 choke and 4 boxes of the Fed HW #7's

The (1st pic)20yard results are pretty tight but nice,(2nd pic) the 30 yard target I thought was excellent and the (3rd Pic) 40 yrd target what do you all think? could you live with that average pellet count??? The gun/choke/load combo I think this is pretty reasonable here but not outstanding. I cleaned the barrel and choke after every benched shot.

Looks like a dense area of shot low at 5 o clock on the 40 yrd board. If that was moved into the 10 circle it would look alot better. But all in all pretty good lookin setup, I'd draw a 10" circle circle and see how much those shots 5oclock low picked the count up.

It looks to me maybe a set of sights are in order here then?
I will be testing it out again when weather is permitting to make shure that this is pretty much a consistant pattern. the 20 & 30 yard targets are not that bad using the truglo bead sight but when you go shooting at 40 and even maybe 45 man its luck of the draw with a single bead.

What are you concerned about.  125 at 40 yds is a great turkey killing number.  Your pattern has a couple of small holes, but don't think I'd worry.  It is very difficult to remember to Kentucky it when that big fella is a gobbling at 30 yds, so I would get sights.  Just get adjustable fiber optic sights and you will be set.

If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

Shoot the paper, then draw your 10 circle around the most dense part of the pattern.  Your numbers will be better.
