I was finally able to shoot the Winchester longbeard xr's and was very impressed to say the least. My best pattern was with the x-factor 695 choke and I got 234 hits in the 10 inch circle. Neat part was how even and full the pattern was. They also shot exact point of aim with my red dot sighted in for mag blends and a hevishot choke. The gun was an 835 20 inch barrel shooting 3.5 inch longbeard xr #5's. For the price difference I can no longer justify buying tungsten rounds.
Jakes are like scotch. They are not worth a darn until they age.

Thats a brutal pattern with 5's. I'm shooting 3" 6's Lb's out of one my guns turning 214 in a 10".  160's in a 10" out of another with 3" 5's. Lb's shoot great patterns @ 40 but I would recommend shooting the patterns at 20-25 to get an idea of how tight the patterns are. Mine are softball size at 20yds. Red dots were a must on my guns. You are already set up that way so you are good to go. Good luck.

I have no doubt that the patterns will be super tight at close range. I bummed these shells off my neighbor just to try them. WHEN I get my own I plan on shooting several chokes at several distances and may not hunt with the x-factor because of pattern size at close range. I miss more turkeys at 5 to 10 yards than 30 or 40 by a huge margin.

That's a good idea. Yup the only turkeys I have missed in allot of years have been up close. I missed one this past spring up close with the LB 5's. Snatched on the trigger and he left out of there like he stole something. Operator error..Happens to us all.
