Yes, that is true of HSUS (Humane Society of the United States). HSUS is a radical animal rights organization. HSUS however is not the same thing as local animal shelters that may call themselves humane societies. Local humane societies were in existence long before HSUS came around, HSUS chose the name they did to trick people into giving them money because the name makes them sound like they are in charge of all the local shelters which is not the case.
