Have seen a lot of that here and I think it a result of heavy rains that wash away nests and hens are starting over and over. It's a good year to be a tom!

The Jake my son shot this year was tiny with zero spurs, not even bumps. I am sure he was born pretty late last year.

Thats not actually how it works in the turkey world. If a hen looses her clutch of eggs she is able to 're inseminate herself. He

When hens are bred they store seemen from the male bird to use at a later date if the need irises.

She can only store that sperm for 3 weeks.  After that she must return to a Tom and be rebred.

I saw a strutter with hens last week in central FLA. Our crazy birds strut from January to July!!
