Indian creek and SSX both shot great patterns in my 835. I do shoot the Indian creek all the time now however both are killers.
Thanks, RP

I always liked the patterns I got out of my old Preston Pittman star dot with 3 inch Supreme lead #5. I also tried 2 and 3/4" and 3.5" lead shells out of that gun and couldn't find any loads that I or the shotgun liked. I was also pleased with Remington Premier 2 oz. 3" lead 5s. I don't pattern past 40 yards because I won't shoot a turkey further out than that.

Just a heads up, theres a few of the truglo gobble stopper chokes on ebay for cheap right now. This isnt the famed truglo ssx, but just a regular non ported extended turkey choke. Ive always been interested in those chokes myself due to the .679 exit diameter. I beleive truglo has stopped making these chokes.

I have one of this chokes for my 835 that I picked up at Academy Sports a few years ago for 15.00
this is a great choke in my 835

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

That's the nice thing about an 835.  With a decent shell, they make almost any choke look good.  ;)

Check out the "Turkey Country" magazine that comes out later this month and see which chokes do best in that extensive evaluation.
