Go by specs and product numbers.  Winchester changes the labeling all the time.

That new marketing strategy is to make the shells cheaper by $2.00? I find that hard to fathom...?!

First ones I ever bought were $6.99 for 3 1/2"....
Then they went to $20, last I saw they were $14.
I can't answer as to how they set their price.

Yeah I understand, but what I do not is how many people say they get different results between the boxed double x and supreme hv. Or why the old supremes cost more then the new double x with its fancier box from the same exact store, you would think it would be the other way around.

The Double X shells around here are red and a few dollars cheaper. The High Velocity Supremes are black. I get better patterns from the High Velocity Supremes with black hulls than the Double X red hulls in the 3.5" #5 shot? My buddies all had better patterns out of different chokes/guns using the black hulls. I'm not certain that they are the same after all.
