Got a nice one this A.M.! Went on a mountain early this morning and a bird was gobbling but hung up at 90 yards. Went to another spot at 7:30 and set up. I saw this turkey yesterday in the field by himself and tried to get around on him but a dog screwed that up. I got set up in the field where he was the day before and put my H.S. Strut feeding hen Jezebel out in the field about 20 yards. I gave a few yelps clucks and purrs on my K&H Loud Mouth call about every 7 minutes. I sat for about 20 minutes, calling every once in a while, and about about 5 minutes later i was thinking about switching over to a tree about 10 yards to my right because i didnt have the greatest view where i was. Thank God i didnt! I sat my gun across my lap and was getting ready to hop up and i see him strutting out to Jezebel. I wasnt ready by any circumstances. He come out to about 30 yards and i whipped my gun up, put the red dot on his head and let the Longbeards eat! He did about a half of a back flip and hit the ground flopping. Tickled to death. Not the biggest, but I aint picky. So thankful to the Almighty for letting me live another day to kill this gobbler. Thanks to all the troops over seas that allow us to go out and do the things we do. 20 lbs on the dot, 10 inch beard, and 1 inch spurs, very sharp.
