I know this may vary from person to person and for different wood types, but can someone give me a few options for what type of finish to use on my pots?

Also what's the best method of applying?

Right now I've got various wood types to work with, hickory, sycamore, maple, osage, cedar... etc.

We use Tru Oil 99% of the calls, so others that you can use are DEFT /spray Poly combo or CA finish depending on the call makers preface.

I use Polyacrylic by Minwax.  Put it on with a touch up air gun.  Clean up is awesome.  Finish is also very durable after it has cured.

I seal mine with two coats of 1 1/2 pound cut of super blonde shellac and then apply several coats of Minwax oil based polyurethane.
