What choke tube lube do you use?

The thread on a stuck choke tube got me to wondering about what everyone uses to lube their choke tube threads.  I just use white lithium grease, but if there's something better I'd appreciate knowing what it is and why it is better.  What does everyone else use and why?

2 drops of hoppes oil on the threads. I shoot thousands of rounds of trap a year and this has always worked for me.

Depends on how often you change tubes and where you use the gun.  If you change often then a simple gun oil is sufficient.  If it sits most of the year without the threads being worked or if you use the gun in corrosive environments like salt air then a thick grease or anti-seize product should be used.  I have used Birchwood Casey product which is a typical silver anti-seize product.  I have used Shooters Choice All Weather Grease which is a red synthetic grease.  Of the two I prefer the Shooter's Choice product as it is less messy and easier to apply in the syringe.

I use a couple drops of gun oil on mine.  If I ever get the tube out of this 1300, I might use a whole tube of gun grease on it!

I got a tube of choke lube from walmart. I think its the birchwood casey brand. Usually the only time the tube comes out is when i put in a junk one when i clean the barrel.

I use Eezox...  Been touted as the best anticorrisive...  In all honesty though, any gun lube on a clean choke will probably work just fine.

More important, is to remove the chokes on a regular basis and clean them.  If there is any moisture, or any chance that the barrel or choke has come in contact with moisture, remove the choke and clean it with any gun cleaner.

I remove my choke after every duck hunt, and every turkey hunt...  Lot's of dew in the morning, and with that barrel laying on my lap, there is a good chance that moisture gets in the barrel.

If I am not going to be using a gun for a while, I store them with the choke a bit loose (if I remember)...  Humidity while storing the guns, or possibly someone uses a humidifier, or whatever...  I tend to think this is the biggest factor in stuck chokes; storing for long periods with even a hint of moisture in the barrel.

And, many gun cases will "sweat," so I never store my guns in the cases for long periods of time either.

You can use whatever you want, just start getting in the habit of breaking the choke free every time you're done with the gun. It'll also get you in the habit of making sure it's tight before every use. A choke that is loose won't seize up on you.

Gun grease is generally just a relatively light grade of grease available elsewhere in the marketplace.  One can use a grease not labeled or marketed for guns. 

I use Hoppe's Gun Grease based on widespread availability and it's worked well for years.  I clean and refresh fairly frequently.
