True Story - 4 of us hunted gobblers out of a cabin in Morgan County, WV. It was the third day of the season and all of us were dragging a$$. Huck, one of our guys saw Red sitting against a tree with his head on his chest; gun across his lap... sound asleep. Huck snuck up and placed his red bandanna in Red's shotgun barrel and snuck off without waking him. Needless to say, Red reluctantly returned to the cabin for lunch for he knew what was awaiting him.

Yeah I don't get this story at all

You've probably been getting up early too many mornings in a row and are tired. Try reading again. My 5 year old grand dausghter thought it was very funny. LOL

I read it again, still nothing.

Didn't laugh either.
"Was that a gobble?":gobble:

I'm sure it was funny, but I'm not sure that stuffing ANYTHING into the muzzle of a loaded shotgun is the bast idea.  :-\
I love golf.  It keeps a lot of people out of the turkey woods.

Turkey hunter found dead by black farmer....

This farmer was out checking his field when he spotted a turkey dA'coy down at one end of the field...he drove up on the dA'coy and noticed this fellow sitting against a tree back in the bushes...the fellow didn't move or show any signs of moving.

The black guy drove off..

The hunters dad was at their truck when the farmer drove back to it.

He pulled up and asked the man...."You got's any body down they're a hunt'n" the guys dad replied "Yes my son"...."You betta get's down they'a and check on him cause yo son is dead".

In total frantic the father asked "Where's he at ?"....."He'z down that field ta the right sitt'n back behind that decoy".

The father jumped in his truck and took off at high speed to find his son....he found the dA'coy walked up to his son and nudged his foot expecting the worse...

His son was so sound sleep that he never noticed the farmer drive right by him...."Son you just took 10 years off what little life I have left".

My buddy said when he opened his eyes his dad was shaking like a coon passing persimmon seeds.

The farmer had called 911...2 Sheriffs dept. cars an ambulance a coroners vehicle and an unmarked car were waiting on them.

True story....told to me by my buddy (The sleeping son)

Was going to just let it go but...What bearing does the color of the farmer have to do with that story? I'm probably opening a can of worms. I'm o.k. with that...Otherwise a great story!

A few friends of mine (father &son and son is fairly new to hunting)
They were hunting up in NY adirondacks. So they split up at day light with plans to.meet up for lunch.
lunch comes and goes but son does not come out. Dad assumes son is on deer and decides to wait for him.
after abiut an hr with no shot dad starts. To get real worried.
Some more time passes and here comes son out of the woods
jacket open shirt open and white as a ghost.says dad. Well turned out he got to his spot
rested his gun next to the tree and settled in ( for what must have been a long winters nap)
Well when he wakes up there is a very large bear 500lbs ish.
about 10 feet from him foraging through the leaves and eating an apple core that he had finished and tossed.
now the story from the son was when he woke from his deep sleep and saw the bear he actually thought dor a minute that it was his dads black ford ranger and thought to himself where the hell am I.
until he realized it was a bear. Then he remembered that his gun was not in his lap and still next to the tree.
his option was to reach for the gun (a muzzle loader) and risk startling this big bear or close eyes and pray that he goes off on his own. So needless to day after about a half hr the bear wandered off on he's own.
And my friend went to find his dad. He actually was a little afraid of the woods after that and missed a season.or 2.
