I'll be leaving for my first turkey hunt in about an hour.  I'm a little disappointed as I ordered a bunch of junk from Cabela's and it wasn't supposed to be here until late next week but I checked the status and it said it would arrive today.....until I checked the status again and it said delayed.   It's not late, it's just not early.  I do have a bunch of other new junk that I ordered.  I have my bicycle ready and my pack board loaded with my blind and decoys.  The season opened the 15th but I had to work so I couldn't go.  I might not have to work Monday so if I don't get two this weekend, I will be hard at it on Monday too.  I'm excited.  Wish me luck and I'll post pictures when I return.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

You shouldn't have done it.  He's just a boy.

No spurs.  I forgot to look if it had a beard.  It was the only bird I saw all day.  I quit early but I'm glad I did.  I didn't hear anyone else shoot and there was a lot of rigs when we left.  There was nobody there upon arrival.....but that was at 1 am.   Not a very good turkey but a legal turkey none the less.  I already purchased my second tag on the way home and I scouted where I plan to hunt tomorrow.  I have to work Monday so I will probably not stay too late.  I will be hunting close to home tomorrow.   Only about an hour and a half away.
