Does cold hamper gobbling?

I shot one the other morning that had ice strands running 6" up his beard.  The beard was frozen in sections and was each individual section was swinging around like crazy as he was jumping on my DSD.

here in the south where I live,it affects them very much(very little gobbling at all)
