Looking for anyone that knows about taxes...I made 27k last year and when I do my taxes apparently I owe 6K...seem a bit much?

Its where they tax the hard working , to pay for the lazy ....it's working quite well for them right now ', as of last November your paying for their subsidized healthcare , while your paying more than ever for your healthcare and getting substandard care

You also pay more for food , housing , than ever before and the lazy get just about handed to them

Back to your taxes ..... Get yourself a good accountant and have he/she go over your deductions -- lots of things on there that are tax deductible -- 6 grand is way too high

I'm assuming you are self employed. If so, if you have very little expense then yes that's prob about right. Don't ya love the governmenT. I'm self employed and work another job. At my job I have quite a bit of extra federal and state taken out so I don't get punished at the end of the year

It's almost exactly what I paid for my car...and the bank gave me 3 years to pay it...
