Hello this is my first post to this forum so here we go. I have a nova 20 that I'm wanting to use for turkey's and I was looking for suggestions on some ammo. I have an undertaker choke and money is limited so are there any good loads like the turkey thugs ammo or the Winchester supremes? I tried to pattern the federal #5 and the supremes #5 at 20yds they are good but any farther than that they are not very good. My son got a 870 20ga for Christmas and I picked him up a tightwad choke at Walmart so I patterned the federal #5's out of it and holy cow!! At 30 yards it threw a heck of a pattern, and the choke is .570 and my undertaker is .572 and the pattern is no where near as good as his so what might be the deal? Thanks

juan , I have a benelli nova 20 like yours and have found that it will throw a killing pattern at 30 with winchester supreme or turkey thug 5's but not any further with any lead I have tried . I run a $20 tight wad choke in mine also from walmart . To get to 40 yds with a killing pattern you will probably find you need to shoot Federal Heavy weights in 7's . They run around 20 to 25$ for 5 shells but will kill with authority at 40 yds. They will also shoot very well in your sons gun also with the choke he already has . Also if you buy some try them in  your factory full choke , a lot of people have found they perform very well in factory chokes .

I appreciate your replys, I've been looking on the forum for awhile now and I have read a few post about having the barrel super clean. Will this make a big difference or not, I also use this gun to shoot doves and I use it for the early teal season and I'll run a bore snake through it every once in awhile. Should I clean the barrel out really good and try to pattern again?

Most likely will only help. I would try it.
The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

My 20 gauge nova 24" barrel and .570 jelly head choke  puts up a beautiful pattern at 40 yrds with federal HTL #7's.
150-180 average in a 10' Circle.

^^^^ Federal HW #7s I shoot a Sumtoy .562 out of my Nova and get 185-195 at 40 yards. Its nasty on turkey noggins!
I've now moved up to rolling my own TSS and get 300+ at 40 yards with 1 5/8 oz. #9s.

My nova shoots magnum blends real well with a jelly head.
