Well, I've found myself tagged out three weeks into the season and need something to occupy my time. Trumpets have interested me for a couple years, as it is the only style of caller I have not learned to run. I don't want to get too crazy on price until I know I can use it effectively. Would prefer to stay in the $50-$75 range if I could. Anyone have any recommendations for a decent trumpet at that price? Thanks.

Pappy makes a nice trumpet call from what I hear. His run about $40 I think.

You are better off spending money on a good trumpet to learn then a less expensive. I know from experience. They will usually sale for what you pay for them if you decide it is not for you.

Brian Mero makes a good call.  Be prepared to spend sometime learning the trumpet some call it the 700 hour call.
