Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge......red dot??

I have a question and I am open to all suggestions.  I purchased a Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge that I purchased for my son.  This gun came with a youth stock and an adult stock with the assumption he would get many years of use.  He has used this gun for the past two seasons shooting trap, dove and pheasant and the gun has been great.  He really wants a red dot and after shooting one this week, I can't say I blame him.

Here is my question.  Is this the right thing to do?  I have a quality gunsmith in my area who said it is an easy process and will run right at $60 plus the mount.  Currently I am considering the Burris FFII with a Burris 336 mount or the weaver mount with a Burris 135 speed dot (that we already own).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both would work just fine but I personally like the reflex type styles like the Burris FFII better.

:deadhorse:thank you for the response. I am going with the burris fast fire III and and burris 336 mount. I just want to get it setup and be done with it.

Also, one last question. After turkey season, can I remove the scope and mount, replace the screws and have it set back up for shooting skeet/trap/dove?

Thanks.

why remove it to shoot skeet, trap & dove, use it.  With both eyes open it would be fast in acquiring a target and shooting.  With a little practice it would be great.  You could probably get away with removing the fastfire from its mount and putting it back on, but to remove the mount and the fastfire together you would probably have to re-zero it.  If you remove the mounting base from the gun you will definitely have to re-sight it.  To sight it in set a target 12 yards from you with a 1" square in the center, using 2 3/4" loads shoot at the square, adjust your sight so your next shot shoots out the 1" square.  Use as many 1" squares as necessary.  When you shoot out the 1" square move your target to 40 yards.  using a 36 x 36" target put a 1" square in the center.  Shoot your turkey loads at the 1" square.  Shoot a second shell at another target to verify your pattern.  Adjust your sights to put the tightest part of the pattern to center over the 1" square of another target.  Shoot as many times to make sure the core of the pattern is centered.  This procedure saves you recoil and turkey loads.  good luck

Thanks for both of the responses.  It is greatly appreciated.
