I met my godfathers son about 10 years ago. Him an his father taught me to hunt. I got into turkey hunting about 9 years ago and was wondering around the woods trying to figure out turkey's before season. I ran in to a fella (Joe Brennan) and he basically taught me everything about turkey hunting. I remember the first time I saw his collection of calls I was amazed. Not to mention a grand slam of turkey's mounted around the room. I was hooked on turkey hunting from then on out. I wanted to know everything about turkey's. I would sit in in the woods before season and just watch the birds come of the roost. I Feel so blessed to have such good mentors in my life. Turkey hunting has been one of the best things in my life. My father you may wonder. He doesn't hunt but is one hell of a fishermen and made me one awesome angler as well. I still have never seen anyone cast a fly rod as gracefully as my pops.

I learned what I know about quail hunting from asking my Dad questions..he was a man of very few words. All other hunting I learned from experience and outdoor magazines.

Due to my recent stellar success, Guesswho asks me that all the time! :TooFunny: :TooFunny:
In all seriousness, my dad took me when I was young for deer, and my FIL started me on the path to turkeys.
Both men got me fired up about the outdoors, but most of what I have learned  about turkeys, I learned from the serial turkey killers that frequent this forum.
I am a better turkey hunter and woodsman because of these guys.

No doubt on that last part! I got the most part have taught myself how to be successful at turkey hunting but my papaw and uncles put the fire and passion plus the safety aspect of it. I learn as lot on here and sometimes feel like I ask the stupidest questions on the face of the planet lol.
