Is a Pump the Best All-Around Platform for a Turkey Rig?

I have a BPS NWTF that has taken many toms.  It will likely take many more.

But I generally prefer semi-autos.  I hunt so many different places, with different types of hunters, in different conditions.  I prefer the versatility of a semi-auto.

If I hunted alone exclusively, I would probably shoot the BPS or maybe even a Synergy...

I have a Winchester 1300 in MO new break-up and 21" barrel.  Like Appalachian said, its essentially a single shot that holds extra shells.  Never had to pump it in need.

Which led me to a single shot factory dipped in original bottomland, which is what I carry most anymore.  Light weight, easy to point, easy to prop on the knee, and doesn't mind getting dragging around the dirt and mud.  Easy to clean too.

Best part is both these guns shoot same choke and load, which keeps things simple.

Like my semi's on nice days & my pumps on nasty days.....

I'll take my pumps any day. I've been using em my whole life and I rack another shell without thinking about it. I've never had a problem with em. Autos do nothing for me I can't already do with my pumps, except they cost 3 times as much. A double barrel would be sweet, I'd take a side by side over the o/u, but they are a little heavier.

When ever I can get enough coin, I am getting a SxS.  Something about an old double barrel peaks my interest. Already know which one I want. Need $500 to get it.

I cant complain at all about my 835. but the more and more I hunt and shoot I absolutely love semi autos. i cant say one is better then the other because i also have a stoeger m200 and its slick and has killed several to. but i will say my next three shotguns will be all semis. i want a sbe2 for turkeys an a5 for wing shooting and im going to build a 20 gauge probably the stoeger 3020. i will say pumps have most likely killed a whole lot more turkeys then a semi auto. but here by next year i will not hunt with a pump. as much atleast.

I think the O/U is the better platform. I picked up a Browning Citori Satin Hunter a couple months ago and now waiting on a nice day for patterning. I got 2 Sumtoy chokes in it. A .695 and.675. Shells to be determined....

I have hunted with single shot ,pump and semi auto for me they all have good and bad things about them pump is probably they best of them three in my opinion but a sxs or o/u would probably be best overall and will probably be my next turkey gun
