Hey guys, thought I'd post this up & show you all the results of my most recent project before season - re-painting my old Feather Flex jake decoy.

http://youtu.be/8NZd0KdCjxQ After poking around the Inter-webs, I stumbled onto an article where a dude had used acrylic paints from the crafts section @ Wal-Mart to re-paint his duck decoys (I believe). My wife had the paints already; each bottle was around $1 each.
So, I thought I'd give it a shot with my old jake decoy. This poor ole guy's gotten his tail kicked so many times - and the gobblers *LOVE* to pull on & peck his head, the paint had started to peel off him. Fortunately, the blue part of his neck & head was still holding tough, so really I only had to touch-up the neck, top of his head, and his beak.
Up close, it looks clown-ish - but out at a distance, it looks pretty darn good (about like it did when I bought 'em 15 years ago). The colors I used are cardinal red, white, and yellow for the beak (buttercup or golden-rod, I think the color was). Thinking about getting some of that Krylon acrylic clear coat to spray over the top, to further seal & finish the job up - and hopefully add a little shean/shimmer to his waddle.
