POI with lead vs. htl

Done some shooting yesterday. Both guns were scoped and using a rest. Both guns are sighted in with hevi-13 #7.
Shot a bunch of lead loads today and the POI was off 6 or 7 inches. Tried the hevi 13 # 7 and they were both dead on. My question is: Does everyone else have this problem?  This makes it hard to switch back and forth from lead to htl.

Most loads shoot to different POIs. With some experimentation you sometimes get lucky. The problem was not nearly as noticeable years ago when everyone shot lead and everyone shot beads. The patterns were big and forgiving and covered up small POI differences. But with loads that put almost all the shot in a 20" circle and optics on the gun, differences in POI are much more readily apparent.

yep mine shoot different in all 5 of my turkey guns. some are closer than others. it will change with a different choke to.

I am lucky. My 3.5-2-6 Pre-Flite control Federal's shoot to the same POI as my Hevi-13 3-2-7's.
In the woods, Federals. Fields and very open timber, Hevi's.
Gonna try some turkey thugs and see where they hit. Hopefully they will be close enough to the others to use.

Yes, I have tested barrels with the factory chokes to make sure they are straight first. Add a tight constriction turkey choke and HTL and the POA/POI goes off. Of all the turkey guns I have had only the Ventilator .655 and the Kicks chokes have the kept the POA/POI on with lead. That is out of 20 or so turkey guns I have owned shooting multiple chokes out of each one. The most variances I have seen have been with the nitro shells and the chokes they recommend which leads me to believe that the high-powered shells accompanied by the tight constrictions has something to do with it. Initially I thought it was entirely the quality of the choke and whether or not it was in alignment.

*kicks is the only choke I have that I can shoot Lead and HTL and the POA/POI be the same. Bizarre they recommend to not shoot heavy shot.

I got lucky I guess with my Mossberg 930 Turkey and an Indian Creek BDC .660.  The POI is the same for both #6 Turkey Thugs and Hevi-13 7's.  I'll be trying some Long Beard XR's in the next couple of weeks, hopefully.

Seems normal in my gun. I only have two loads that shoot the same, and they are both heavier than lead offerings.
