I have the sbe2 and I recently purchased the fastfire iii for my gun. I want to get a check pad but I'm not for sure which size to get. I saw on benelli's website there is two different sizes, if there is anyone who has a similar setup could tell me which one they got I would appreciate it.

did you mount it with a Picatinny mount or the 336 mount?

No one can really answer this for you but yourself.  See it depends on how high your sight is mounted, which stock shim you are using and how you hold the gun.  Different people hold the recoil pad higher or lower on the shoulder, some choke up on the stock comb with their face, others stay further back.  All these things will effect your sight line to the sight.  Cut you some strips of cardboard 1 inch wide and stack them up like a block.  Hold it between the stock comb and your cheek.  Keep adding cardboard till you feel your eye is lining up correctly with the sight.  Then measure the thickness of the cardboard and buy the cheek pad that comes closest to that thickness.  Before you do this though you may want to try different stock shims that will reduce the drop at comb.  May reduce the thickness or possibly eliminate the need for a cheek pad all together.

I have the "high" on mine. Works great with my Aimpoint red dot

Get a Bear Tooth comb rasing kit.  $20.00 and you can taylor it to whatever hight mount/sight you want and  you won't have to modify or mess with your gun one little bit.  As far as the Marlin 336 mount or a weaver style rail, imo it really won't matter as you'll only be having to deal with a hight diference of maybe 1/4"-3/8" max between the two and the Bear Tooth kit will take care of that.
Big Al's "Take-em" Style Silhouette decoys Pro-Staff.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind te most.

beagle, glad you responded. I tried to pm you but could not get it (my phone) to do right. It was a picture of your gun that got me thinking of a check pad. I talked to a guy from benelli and he said I would need the middle one with a red dot. I got the weaver mount, for those who wanted to know. The way I rest on my stock, it doesn't feel like I need much, that's why I was thinking about the mid rise one. It's good to know which one you have on your gun, kinda gives me an idea of what I'm looking at. I'm just now getting my fastfire iii mounted on my gun, I sent my barrel off to rob roberts, so I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet "as is". But, holding it and looking through the red dot, it feels like I'm going to need something.  Thinks to everyone who responded, I will try some of this.
