Alps turkey chair mc

Thinking about picking one of these up for the up coming season. Any opinions on them? Worth it or are they junk?

A friend of mine and I both have one and we both LOVE them.  The chair is solid, well built and comfortable.  They are rated at 300lbs but are so solid they will take more than that.  The carry strap is wide and comfortable for carrying.  The only draw back I see is that the D rings for the strap are plastic instead of metal.  If they should break they could be easily replaced with metal ones.

  I use one similar to the cabelas brand. can't remember the exact name but its built tough and is the most comfortable chair I've used. im 6'2" and 235lbs and i can sit in mine with my vest on cushion down and slip my arms out with all my calls and accesories at my fingertips. I don't run and gun often with it but if things are slow and I'm gonna set up two or three times over long periods versus 10-12 times workin a bird or two this is the ticket.
word of caution though! Its so comfy its easy to get a little to relaxed and dose off.lol By the way it pays to shop around. i got mine for 25 with free shipping versus 40-60 most places sell them for.

No Doubt RutnNStrutn!!  There great....sometimes a hassle to pack in while running and gunning.  But if you leave it in the truck you quickly regret that decision on your first set up!

I have the Cabelas Gobbler Lounger, the Wal Mart Turkey Thug chair and the Browning version made by Alps. It is my favorite. The Wal Mart material makes some loud noise with movement. http://www.mackspw.com/Item--i-ALP85255014S

Yea I think I'm gonna give the alps a try. My buddy has the cabelas one and his biggest complaint are the feet sinking in the dirt and he is about 80 pounds less than me

One of the nice things about the Alps..the weight is supported across the whole front, and just not 2 outer points. You can actually scoot the chair around while staying seated if need be to get the right angle on an approaching gobbler.

I have an ALPS. They come in two sizes; one is extra wide and that is the one I got. I love it but it is a little heavy and bulky for run and gun. If I plan on travelling a lot I carry the Turkey Thug seat. It has no back rest but a nice seat. My problem is that I can't sit still without a chair or seat and spook a lot of turkeys.

The Gobbler Lounger and Browning chair fold up to an easier size for me to carry. I don't want the metal frame to clang around on the Alps.

Yea I understand the metal making noise. I don't plan on running and gunning but if I do I guess I will have to manage. I saw a forum where a guy drilled small fill holes in the chair and filled with foam to deaden the sound some. But I think I am def gonna go with the alps
