"Give no opportunity to the devil"  -Ephesians 4:27.

How much time each day do we hack through unwanted e-mail, popup ads, and spam on our computers?  Again and again we push the "delete" key.  It gets so irritating at times and draws our attention away from the things we're trying to do.

Our computer's in-box is not the only place unwanted messages are delivered.  Many times each day Satan downloads spam into the in-boxes of your mind.  "You don't need God," he says.  "No one will notice if you disobey God this once."  "Just follow the desires of your flesh, God won't mind."  These lies and more are what we need to delete from our minds day after day.

The devil is relentless.  But God the Holy Spirit is just as vigilant, propping us up and strengthening us to resist the evil one's spam.  Each time we take into ourselves the truths of the Holy Scriptures, God rids our minds of Satan's spam.  God's Holy Word, The Bible, weakens the devil's strength.

The fact of the matter is that Jesus Christ has crushed the devil's fingers.  Jesus' suffering, death and resurrection has broken the devil's power.  If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!  Don't open evil spam.  Delete it from your presence with the Word.

God has claimed you as His own in Jesus.  In Christ you have been forgiven of all your sins, believe this and use it!  I repeat, don't open evil spam!

Open God's Word of Gospel.  Only then can you "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.  Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you"  Ephesians 4:31-32.
